Selection criteria for VFD

what should be a selection criteria for a VFD of 400 watts motor with a surge current of 8 amps . Anyone having complete details regarding vfd . Please share.

1.8 kw motor three phase (380 volts) surge current 5.9 amps & runing current 0.9 amps

Selection above would be adequate for a typical application. VFD starting will also require a brief review of the type of load and starting method, torque/current limit or time based (soft start). If you have a high inertia load and require in excess of 150% for 60 seconds you may need to review and oversize VFD to deliver adequate current/time capability. Typical is one start every 5 minutes if at the upper limits.
Remember a VFD is going to retain heat and will trip if overheat is detected by excessive heating caused by frequent or high load starting.
