Off hand I would say if you’re dealing with a live panel you need to observe the appropriate safety for that amount of voltage. A lot of drives include electronics so you would need to protect against electrostatic discharge. There are also large capacitors in inverter drives so you should consider discharging these when removing.
I would recommend two ways to fill in the blanks on this and that would be download an installation manual and/or call the distributor. I know Yaskawa and Allen Bradley have great online site to download training material and manuals. This would be a perfect opportunity for the distributor to help you out and make a good impression on you.
