In variable speed constant frequency(VSCF) machines, I would like to have expert comment on reliability aspect of cycloconverter vs. mechanical CSD.
Config.1 : VSVF machine + Cycloconverter = VSCF
Config.2 : mech. CSD + Synch Machine = VSCF
