How to use PID control in ABB ACS 800 Drive?

In ABB ACS800 there are around 28 parameters for PID Control which one must be used and how to set and adjust them ?

The application is that we have to control the temperature of the cooling tower so that a controlled temperature water should be provided to cool down or to maintain the temperature of the plant as per the requirement .... want to use the inbuilt PID function of ABB ACS 800 with RTD .... keep the temperature around 35 to 40 degree celsius not to exceed 70 degree celsius and 70 degree celsius is the tripping point .......

Any help ?

Do you have an ACS800 firmware manual? There is a section on the PID control macro which should be of help. You are probably going to need something to convert your RTD value to a 4-20 mA signal to the VFD drive.

Which thing would be required to convert the RTD value to a 4-20 mA signal ? (which device)

Also how to set these different parameters which are given in ACS800 Firmware Manual ?

thanks

Thermocouple card / RTD cards are available in market you can use them too. They give 4-20 mA o/p

By using this setup ( Thermocouple card / RTD cards are available in market you can use them too. They give 4-20 mA o/p ) i think we then dont need of using ABB ACS800 Drive's internal PID configuration and we dont need to tune up drives' internal PID , Right ?

it is basically your own selection whether you use the internal PID or TC card
